4 Island tour with Kids – Koh Poda, Koh Mor, Chicken (Koh Kai) and Koh Tup Island (plus Phra Ngan Beach)

I already wrote a post about doing the Hong Island Tour. Today we will dive into another Tour that we took with kids and a baby.

This tour included Islands of:

  • Koh Poda
  • Koh Mor
  • Koh Tup
  • Chicken (koh Kai)
  • as well as Phra Nang Beach.

*It is as safe as it can be for the kids and the baby as they all have life vests and we book tours from a reputable place, that have wonderful reviews and best customer service.

We went in December, for my son’s birthday – we rented a private long tail boat – we took a Luxury one that included a lunch, cake, coconuts, water. Total Cost – 5500 THB (around 150$ US; that does not include a payment for the National Park Entrance which was 300 THB per adult and 150THB per child). This price also includes pick up and drop off at your place of staying. The boat leaves from Ao Nang Pier.

We splurged as this was my son’s birthday and we wanted something a bit more fancy and these luxury long tail boats are the only ones that have a roof where my boys can jump off in the water as they did on the previous tour( but we got lucky on that one as regular long tail boats were not available and they gave us a luxury boat instead).

We like the freedom of renting a private long tail boat – you can stay at the different destinations for as long as you want, nobody is rushing you and you do not have to go to all attractions – you can enjoy your time that is for sure.

We did ask to start the tour earlier to skip the crowd and so happy that we did- almost everywhere there were not a lot of people if at all. Some of the beaches we had to ourselves.

Depending on what You choose (if you rent a private boat – you are able to choose which island you go first and how long you stay there)- first we went to Koh Tup and Koh Mor and spent there a good hour before going to Koh Kai and went to a very private place to set up lunch and explore the cave – Koh Poda- and we were alone for the most part. It is very secluded and so stunning. we snorkeled there and saw thousands of fishies and very nice coral.

After lunch we went to Phra Ngan Beach but due to high winds we skipped it as we wanted to have some time to swim, enjoy jumping off of the boat – we asked the captain to go near Railay Beach- so we did and it was fantastic- and a lot less windy.

We spent there the rest of the time before we had to go back- the whole tour is about 6 hours and it is well worth renting a private boat if you are at least 2 people (not a luxury boat but just a regular long tail boat would have been 2500 THB total and that would also include pick up and drop off from hotel/place of stay in Ao Nang).

*Another thing to note- the tour agency that we rented from – has arranged us replacement drinks due to the fact that we do not drink alcohol and gave us non alcoholic champagne and fresh coconuts because of my son’s birthday. They also were very attentive to what we wanted to eat and let us choose – they called the Boat Owner right away to arrange the food and drinks. The agency is called Lily Tour and Travel and the location is here : 143 15, Ao Nang, เมือง, Chang Wat Krabi 81180, Thailand (link to the Google location: Lily Tour and Travel ).
